Friday night

So I went out on Friday night (2-5-14), I was having a great night until I broke all my morals and had a one night stand with an 18yo guy and I didn't even know his name! I have been beating myself up about it ever since.
I found out this morning that my best friend has gotten a lot of abuse because of it.
I just wanna crawl up in a ball and die.
I wish it never happened! Please take me back to that night and make me realise it's not worth it!

Book review

My kids love books. They love the different voices for different actions or characters. Their favorite book is the Three Little Pigs. They love listening to the wolf huffing and puffing.

The reader is really good at getting the kids' attention and keeping them enticed.

The kids love listening to all the different sound effects, such as, huffing and puffing, falling houses, the different voices and background music.

They like listening and learning the difference between the goodies and badies,  right and wrong.

The kids love the anticipation when there is impending danger, the music, the characters reactions,  and sound effects.

12 most important aspects of reading

1) Bonding
2) knowledge that reading is fun
3) Healthy expression & communication
4) Basic speech skills
5) Early language skills
6) New experience
7) More restful sleep
8) Cognitive stimulation
9) Academic exec lense
10) Enhanced concentration skills
11) More logical thinking skills
12) Mastery of language

Why reading is a big deal

3 points I took away from the article.

1) Reading to your children from a young age increases their intelligence.

2) Reading increases many skills such as empathy and comprehension

3) Children who enjoyed daily story time were almost 12 months ahead in school and their vocabulary.

Reading to kids

Reading can: build relationships, build interests, increase intelligence.

Reading will: build relationships, build interests.

I value reading because: I spend quality time with my kids, I love seeing their smiles and reactions.

Reading in my family looks like: technology, love, happiness, family, intense, smiles.

New phone!

So yesterday (15-4-2014) I got my new phone the Galaxy S5. So far I love it.

When I saw the courier pull up in my driveway I ran home cause I was at my neighbours house, I got my purse out for my ID then happily accepted my package!

I put everything together and started up my new, pretty phone. After I had a little play I started to download all my applications.

Letter to class

Dear class mates.

I am writing this letter to you to express my concern. I have noticed there is a lot of people missing school because they feel unsafe, unsecure, rejected, not worthy and secluded. We need to address this because it is not fair that people are missing out on this awesome opportunity because people are not respecting other people and their emotions.

I propose we ask people how they are, saying hello, giving out random compliments, include people into conversation or invite people onto your table if you notice them by themselves. As the KYM mission statement says, the purpose of KYM is to encourage respect, ambition and determination in young mums through education and support.

Kurnai Young Mums is a community of passionate parents striving to optimise their life opportunities and those of their children. Without the kindness and support of the other students this can become impossible.

I thank you for your time to read this letter and would be greatfull if everyone took something from this and put it into action.

Tour of the GEP

Today we went to the Churchill campus of school called the GEP, don't ask me what it stands for cause I have no idea.

While we were there we had the documentary crew there filming us again. I can not wait until it's finished and we get to watch it.

After our tour we made our group lunch in the home economics room. We made spring roll things, sushi look-a-like sandwiches, and rolls. The sushi look-a-like sandwiches were the best! And we're beautifully presented. The documentary crew was filming us cooking and eating :)

After we had eaten our lunch we went to the computer room to do an online career selector. I enjoyed doing that, it told me something different to what I want to do but in majority was correct.

On the way back to Moe we were all a little tired and were not as talkative, I'm bushed and would love to crawl into bed and sleep the whole weekend away!

Will post photos of our food ASAP!

Letter to worker

So at school we have to write a letter to a worker, we did an example to Fat Controller for a serious issue with the Vline trains (Gippsland line).

Our main issue was parents with prams being treated disrespectfully. Some of the parents raised concerns such as being told/asked to fold up their prams even if they were only on the train for one stop (about 10 minutes). As a mother of two little children I know that this can be a massive task, trying to keep the children near me so I can fold the pram up, or being able to control the children is harder then you might think. I, unfortunately, have fallen victim to have to fold up my pram on the train and trust me it bloody sucks!

Having the pram up is actually quite important because my children can walk, press buttons (they love the big red one that says "emergency") and open doors. As much as it may seem that having the pram up on the train is annoying or disrupting, it is quite a lot more annoying and disrupting having the children run around screaming, sitting on other passengers laps and dangerous because as I said before they can open doors, press the emergency stop button.

For the younger children/babies it is easier to have the pram up because if you don't have a friend/father to help then trying to fold up the pram is an almost impossible task. If the baby needs a sleep or even if you need to change their nappy, it is more realistic to change them in the pram then use the toilets as you'd need to take everything with you into the toilets (because Vline doesn't replace stolen items) and this is an impossible task, holding a baby and how ever many bags you have brought.

I as a Vline customer would like to see more space for parents with prams and disabled people. We are not animals and should not have to be treated like them.

Bad day!

So, I had a pretty weird day. I felt like every time I tried to speak everyone just cut me off, every time I suggested an idea it was shut down, and then I got given a toy because the previous owner couldn't be bothered dealing with it. I'm not a garbage disposal! I am worth listening to!

To top off my shitty day, my daughter has decided to mess the house. Sprinkles all over my couch, margarine on the kitchen floor and toys everywhere!

Where was I? Out the back hanging the washing. Don't you just love kids?!

My best friend is leaving me!

OMG my bestie is moving!

So tonight my best friend of 10 years is yet again leaving her home town (where I still live). It still hasn't sunk in that I will no longer be able to visit my best friend! She means the world to me and I will miss her dearly, I hope that one day soon she will return to me.

I remember back in high school when she broke up with her boyfriend and I told her that I liked him and the next day she got back with him, I was shattered that she would hurt me like that (OMG I was so 14 years old!). I also remember all the times I was outed in our group of 5 and she would be the only to still talk to me, although she felt like she had to hide it from the rest of the group.

I really can't believe we have been friends for 10 beautiful years, I will always love you Jessica! You will always be my best friend, my rock, my soul.

Please don't leave me here alone for too long :)

Mummy daughter weekend!

Where's my son!?

So this weekend has been just myself and my 2yo daughter. Yesterday (Sat 22-02-14) was a a very lazy day! We got up and got breakfast, my daughter had 2 mandarins and a banana. After breakfast we watched a couple of movies (Toy Story II & Aristocats). Aristocats is one of my most favorite childhood movies along with Thumberlina and Labyrinth. What are some of your favorite childhood movies? I'm actually very interested to know, so please comment your favorite movie/s and why.

After we had watched a couple of movies we had a smiley meat and cheese sandwich and a yogurt. My daughter decided it would be a great idea to pull her sandwich apart and only eat the meat! Needless to say there was bread spread out all over the lounge room floor.

I was so tired that we went to have a lay down, I put a movie on in my bedroom for Nik to watch. She didn't feel like having a lay down and was up and down off the bed, so no nap for me! My nan had sent me a message asking if I was going to be home today to visit, I told her I was trying to have a lay down and to ring me when she was coming over. Half an hour later she messaged me on Facebook telling me she was on her way....Great still no nap for me! At this point I was so drained and tired I was now running on nothing, not even coffee was giving me enough of a boost.

After nan had been and gone we had a snack and I tried again to have a nap. FINALLY! Nik had fallen asleep, by this point it was 5pm, this was the time I usually start cooking dinner, I didn't know whether to wake her or have a sleep with her. I let her sleep for about 30 mins and was going to wake her up but I was so exhausted that I fell asleep too, YAY! I woke at 6pm when Nik had woken up and started jumping on me.

We got up and had soup and toast for dinner. I was still so tired! We went back to the bedroom, I put another movie on for Nik and I watched YouTube for an hour or so. Nik was still wide awake so I ran a bath for her with the Johnson's baby bed time bubble bath while I had a shower. After we had gotten dressed for bed I read her a story and tried to get her to go to sleep. After turning off all lights, tv and laptop she finally fell asleep at 10:30pm. I then watched two of my favorite YouTubers and passed out at 11:30pm.

Sunday 23-02-14

I woke up at 9am to find I was covered in urine! I knew I should have put a nappy on my daughter. I got Nik up and had a shower. After our shower Nik had spinkles on toast for breakfast (hey, she asked for it!). While she was sitting down watching telly and eating her toast I had my morning coffee and smoke.

After the morning routine we went out the back and Nik played on the swings while I hung out the washing. After putting on another load of washing and playing out the back with Nik for about half an hour (at this point she missed her brother, asking me "where's my Isaac?") my friend comes over with my son. She told me on the way home Isaac was saying "I don't wanna go home". I was sad that he didn't wanna see his mum or sister but happy that he is happy to stay away from us if the day ever comes around that he has to.

When my friend had left I hung out the second load of washing and put another load on. I don't have a small washing machine but with the rain and cold weather the last week I haven't been able to hang it out, so it has just sat there waiting to be done looking at me like 'wash me!'

One of my friends came over and had a look at my car and replaced the shockers on it, while he was doing that my other friend came over to fix the bog on my second car (no, I'm not rich. They are both secondhand cars and one isn't registered but is getting done up to be put on the road). At some point my mum came screaming into my driveway, I honestly thought she was going to slam into my wagon that was parked in the driveway with a jack under it. I asked why she flew in like that and gave me her dog! She replied with, "there is a fire about 2 kms from my house, so I'm dropping the dog off and going to get petrol and go find my cat". I was in shock not knowing about this fire. I spose I should say now that it is currently fire season and my mum's house backs onto paddocks and bush land. Not long after she got home there was a notification that the fire had been put out, so mum came back to get her dog and stayed.

My friend that was doing the shockers had left and the bog on the other car was taking a while and it was getting close to dinner time so I offered for him and my mum to stay for dinner. We didn't have anything fancy just plain old spag bowl, yummy.

After dinner my kids were both covered in spaghetti sauce so I ran them a bath, they love their baths! Once they were all dried and dressed my friend Barry (fake name) said it was time to leave as he has to go to work tomorrow morning. Not long after Barry left I put the kids to bed, Isaac went to sleep almost straight away where as Nik cried for about an hour (nothing major or I would have gone in to her).

Now I have finished writing this blog (have been adding to it most of the day, not just all in one hit) I am going to pack the daycare bags and go to bed! Goodnight everyone.

Blogger app on my phone :)

So I never knew I could get "Blogger" on my iPhone until I saw a little add on the website stating "mobile Blogger" so I searched for it in the App Store and sure enough there it was.

I haven't played with it (apart from writing this blog) but so far it is very easy to use and very convenient.

I think this might be my preferred method of posting a new blog if I can post photos as easy as creating a new blog.

Have a good day,
~Aimes~

First blog post :)

So far the K.Y.M program has been great! I've made a couple of friends, been on the news, had an interview for a doco and been getting into a routine of getting up early.

My kids are now going to bed at their normal time of 7:30pm and hardly a peep out of them which is great for my peace of mind and sanity.

I have noticed I am a lot more active and don't think the chores that need to be done are hard work, I actually enjoy getting off the computer and doing them.

I'm looking forward to bettering myself and becoming a better person.
